Poems For The Week Of Chesed
Chesed in Chesed
under waterfall
grief emptied glass spills kindness
over-flowing well
Gevurah in Chesed
loving kindness flows
shapes shores of limited mind
seeks low ground. finds me
Tiferet in Chesed
drops of river cups
of sea beauty body’s
tidal receiving
Netzach in Chesed
Will it endure clay
bones kindness spring’s swift
river remembers
Netzach In Chesed
Chesed fills and runs
through our passages -
skeleton, lungs, heart,
waters always separating
and returning, exile of
sea and sky remembered
in our blood.
So we endure
the forces
until the time
comes to dissolve-
tenacious and tender human
forms like mountains,
rock, riverbeds.
When we cry oceans
consume our tears,
tidal salt recalls
our landed loneliness.
Hod in Chesed
She weeps pink cascades
single tree’s solution to
limitless delight
Another Hod In Chesed
She is weeping pink
cascades, this tree shaping grief
into gratitude
Yesod in Chesed
I am tree red winged
on her way to becoming
abundance flowing
Malchut in Chesed
Whose body whose dream
whose wings resting on mother
tree lifting us home
Friendship and Grief: Malchut she b’Chesed
The smells of malchut
a purple misting of potted
hyacinth while the promises
of roses, lilac
gather by my open door -
I grieve the sisters
I never had while
left with the mother
I did, a lifetime of
hope and stumblings in the
peaks and valleys of friendships
bouquets of sisters,
time bound and precious -
some might root still
in this season’s
garden
