Tzav and Tears
May the beauty of the Divine Presence/Shekinah be our grounding. Psalm 90:17
a command
is heard as
if an inner call -
always bring salt
to your offerings
gathered from
sea and tears.
Fire and smoke
full moon and night
beauty
the concealed the
revealed
commands:
don’t just look
for what you
already know.
We cannot stay
locked in the castle,
the castle is on fire.
Make of your
sea and tears
salt. Too much
is burning.
The pillar of the righteous
balanced on the fin
of the leviathan
inevitably
falls back
into primordial waters.
From there
we hear a call
a tzav knocking on egg, uniting
and dividing into
zygote notochord,
as on the 2nd
day,
lower waters separated
from the upper
and longing
was created
as was memory
of who we are
fish and wave,
a filling well,
a seed floating
in the river
altar and
the smoke
of our offerings
a return of sea
to vast weeping
sky
